ALEX MANDELL - Founder of Alarm Pictures

Alex is a 10 year international film industry veteran who has worked across film distribution all around the world with extensive experience in both the US and UK.

First finding his feet at Momentum Pictures and then United International Pictures, Alex moved to Paramount Pictures and quickly moved up the ranks to become an Acquisitions and Production Executive.  

After 7 years at Paramount Alex moved into US film distribution for Wrekin Hill Entertainment as Director of Production and Acquisitions, working closely with ex-Newmarket co-founder Chris Ball, producer of such cult classics as 'Donnie Darko' and 'Memento.'   

Seeing that the US film distribution market had found new innovative ways to reach audiences outside of the traditional cinema and DVD release, Alex decided the time was right to bring these unique approaches to independent film distribution over to the UK.

Alex’s passion is film and through Alarm Pictures, his aim is to share this passion by offering movie fans a chance to watch fresh and original independent film/content, through new distribution outlets in the digital space.

Alex's top movies?  The Usual Suspects, The Third Man, Dr, Strangelove, City of God, Princess Bride, Crimes and Misdemeanors.
